Meet the staff at Westfield!

CHRIS DAWSON (or 1st Chris) has served as pastor of Westfield since June, 2006. While being a husband, father, and Minister of Students, Chris attended Campbell University Divinity School where he graduated with a Master of Divinity in Preaching and Pastoral Care in May, 2007. Chris and his wife, Michelle, have been married 13 years and have been blessed with 3 beautiful children. As pastor of WBC, Chris partners with all the ministers of WBC to be the hands and feet of Jesus. At WBC, we want to grow closer to God spiritually, emotionally, and physically. Come join us in our journey.

CHRISTOPHER COTTINGHAM, also known as 2nd Chris or Chris v2.0, came to Westfield in September of 2008. Originally from Thomasville GA, he graduated from Furman University in Greenville SC with a B.A. in Religion and Music, and received his Master of Divinity from the Beeson Divinity School at Samford University. Before his call to Westfield, he served as a hospice chaplain, campus minister, and church pianist in Columbia SC.

CHRISTINE BAXLEY, Church Secretary since November 2010, is a newlywed living in Coats NC with her husband Ben.  They are both graduates of Liberty University in 2009 where she graduated with a B.A. in Religion and Women’s Ministry.  Christine and Ben are actively involved in Crossroads Church of Benson where he serves as the worship pastor.  Christine has grown up moving many times, with most of her teenage years spent in northern New Jersey.  Ben and Christine are new to North Carolina and are settling in at their home in Coats. 

JOYCE TURNAGE BALLARD is a member of WBC and has been the organist since 1999. A native of Erwin, Joyce received her Bachelor of Science in Education from Campbell University and her M.A. in Math Education from Fayetteville State University. She has been a teacher for 34 years and currently teaches at Dunn Middle School. She and her husband John have 2 daughters and 4 grandchildren.
